What Exactly Is An Industrial Spherical Transition Used For? Roto-Disc Explains

The goal within manufacturing is to create an efficient method of movement for the product being created. Roto-Disc specializes in designing and manufacturing products that create efficient methods of movement across the manufacturing industry.

In today’s blog, our team at Roto-Disc will focus on a small part of the valve process known as a transition. Specifically, we’ll educate you about industrial spherical transitions and what they are used for.

What Is An Industrial Spherical Transition

Transitions are used within the dry bulk handling industry to connect the flange on a valve to the flange on the next piece of equipment the product will flow through. It is primarily used within the world of gates and diverters as a connecting option that does not disrupt or trap the product being transferred. This allows both ease of product movement, and flexibility for the manufacturer for where the product can go.

There are three main flange design standards introduced by international associations designed to assist manufacturers in dry bulk: CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association), ANSI (American National Standards Institute), or DIN (Deutsches Institut fur Normung E.V.).

Design by these standards is offered, but isn’t necessarily a requirement for all manufacturers. Many equipment manufacturers design their own flange patterns to suit their equipment.

What Is It Used For?

An Industrial spherical transition focuses on providing transitions that pair specifically with heavy-duty and lightweight spherical valves. It serves as the connecting point for transition with the dry product in conveyor lines.

The goal is to help connect the equipment together that moves the product without catching or blocking movement flow.

Where Can I Find One?

Roto-Disc designs industrial spherical transitions with the purpose of fitting our spherical valve lines. Our goal is to ease the process, not complicate or clog it.
